mission.

God is at work at Greater Life Church. We are a people discovering Christ, growing in community, and sharing God's love in our daily lives. This is a beautiful cycle of change that never stops — drawing us closer to God, making us who God called us to be, and introducing others to God's abundant life and the purpose they were created for.

Our Mission (in short): To live the life we were created for: Discovering Christ, Growing in Community, and Sharing God's Love.

values.

biblical teaching.

that produces growth

God's word drives us and changes us for the better. It is the foundation of our lives and the source of our strength. When it becomes a part of us through teaching and personal study, it transforms us from the inside out.

vibrant worship.

that glorifies God

We take praise and worship seriously—individually and as we come together corporately. We glorify God with our voices and our lives, demonstrating grateful hearts for who He is and all He has done for us.

programming.

for all generations

We are committed to being a multigenerational church that pursues Christ together — investing in generations beyond our own. Our joy is to help build strong families and ultimately the family of God through impactful ministry that strengthens individuals, fortifies marriages, and raises up children in God's truth and love.

community
focus.

that drives us beyond ourselves

It doesn't end with us, it starts with us. As we have been given, we freely give. We generously think beyond ourselves by investing in the work of God, pouring into people, and spreading God's love to an expanding community around us.

about the church.

We believe that the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving him and by making him known to the lost world. (Acts 2: 42-47)

about god.

God is a spirit whose nature is light, love, and holiness; He is infinite, eternal, all wise, all powerful, all knowing. There is only one God, but that God is revealed as three distinct Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to humanity and to become the Savior of the lost world through his death, burial and resurrection. (Genesis 1:1, John 4:24, John 1: 1-14, 1 John 1:5)

about the bible.

We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, we believe the Bible is without error. (2 Timothy 3:15 -17).

about salvation.

We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, God freely offers salvation to those who place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. (John 3:16)

about humanity.

We believe that all people were created in the image of God to have fellowship with him, but became alienated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, people are incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through their own efforts. (Romans 5: 8-12)

about our future.

God, in His own time and in His own way, will bring the world to its appropriate end. According to His promise, Jesus Christ will return visibly in glory to the earth; the dead will be raised; and Christ will judge all men in righteousness. (Matthew 24: 29-31, Revelation 19:11-21)

our story.

The story of our church is simple and powerful. In 1932, a small band of believers assembled to create a ministry that would be faithful to God and His Word, while serving and engaging the surrounding community. As the decades have elapsed, Greater Life, formally known as Greater Bethlehem Baptist Church, has upheld those faithful and meager beginnings, impacting communities from Fair Park to East Dallas. Those men and women of faith, who sacrificed, served, and stood for truth have left a lingering legacy for this new season of our faith community. Because of them, we are most excited about what our future holds. We humbly stand upon their shoulders to ensure that the best is STILL yet to come!
